Hey strangers!!

It’s been a few months since I have written on here. I know, I know… but sometimes… sometimes we just need to walk away. And that’s what I needed to do. I needed to walk away.

Life happened. A lot happened. A lot of GOOD happened.

I left off talking about the exciting news I had about my new position with our Children’s Hospital. I am a part of the Patient Family Advisory Council. Well, after many meetings and a lot of planning, I am now the Chair Person for our NEW NICU Advisory Council. I am so excited and so honored to be a part of this. This is so awesome.

I had to create a business plan for this program and it was not an easy thing to do. But I was 100% confident in doing it though!! And I did. I made this big packet with a Mission, Vision and Purpose Statement. With receiving advice and using  some direction from other Directors of Patient Family Advisory Councils, I created the Bylaws, Goals, Sample Budget and a sample letter to parents from the NICU Advisory Council. After each step I sent it to the NICU Director and she loved it. She loved it all. So now, as we meet with new prospective parent advisors, we give them a folder with all this information, an application and a few forms to sign and return.

So far we have met with three other former nicu mothers. I am really excited for what is to come. I know I keep saying that but I really had no idea how long the process takes. Literally, every step of the way we have had to stop and wait for the thumbs up then we proceed. Then we stop and show what we got for approval, we wait again, get another thumbs up, then proceed… we did this every few weeks. It’s been fun, but a lot of work. A lot of meetings. A lot of speaking engagements and networking. It’s been an awesome experience. This has been my dream. And here I am.

I have written before about how I am living in awe of God’s Plan. I am in awe of life. It’s been a life unexpected. A life full of blessings and miracles and I can’t believe that I was chosen to share it. So that’s what I plan to do in 2020. Share more.
