I wanted to share a really REAL part of myself today. I think because I’m feeling some kind of way that I just need to vent and let it out.
#Momlife… it’s real thing.
It’s a real thing to literally lay in bed wide awake all night completely exhausted and just not be able to sleep.
It’s a real thing to think about 200 different things and not know what you’re really thinking about. That’s called not having focus. And when you don’t have focus you don’t get anything accomplished. It is one of the most frustrating things to live with. Even more frustrating than telling your toddler to stop crying and he just whines and whimpers for 20 minutes. Omg that drives me nuts!!
It’s a real thing to realize 15 minutes before sending the kids to school that you have run out of bread. You see some hamburger buns and think, well technically it’s bread. But then you think, you can’t do that to your kid. They’d get made fun of.
It’s a real thing to put laundry in the washer and make sure the alarm is on super loud for when it finishes … and then you set your alarm on your phone (because you will probably be on Instagram anyways) to remind you to put the clothes in the dryer. But then when all these alarms are going off, you quickly turn them off because you are watching a video, texting someone, or peacefully drinking your coffee (very rare, but it happens) So you don’t even get up to put the clothes in the dryer. Then you go on with your busy day and completely forget about those clothes until the next morning when the routine starts all over again… sometimes this takes a few days… but then you just put in a Snuggle Scent Pod because you don’t want those clothes so smell dingy. And trust me mamas… those scent pods work like a charm!!!
It’s a real thing to sit in the school pickup line for 45 minutes to get a good spot and fall asleep. Don’t judge me.
It’s a real thing to stand your kid in the shower and literally bathe them, wash them thoroughly and dress them in less than 5 minutes.
It’s a real thing to sit with your kid and help them with homework and suddenly you can’t stop yawning. Homework is freaking boring.
It’s a real thing to pour your cup of hot coffee and not take a first sip for an hour, then forget where you put your cup and then remember a couple hours later and take that second sip. Sometimes you’ll make a fresh cup, sometimes you’ll warm up this one and sometimes you will just drink it as is. Whatever works best at the time.
It’s a real thing to get bad news about my son’s increase medical bills (finding out that only 20% of a $500 medication is covered) and just look up to God and say, “Well, Lord… I know you always provide.”
It’s a real thing to Pray for God to give me strength to just survive this day. To survive every day.
It’s a real thing to not know what’s going to happen in the future, near or far, and just have hope. Just trust in God ’cause I have no idea how we are going to get by with less than $100 in my bank account….
It’s a real thing to actually feel grey hairs growing out of your head!
#momlife is a real thing.
I have so much more to say and write but…. momlife.
