Thursday July 5th I took my friend and two daughters to a special event that was sponsored by Pantone294, a special group of fans that supports the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The event was called ‘A League of Their Own’- Women in Sports, Media and Entertainment.

^^^ These were all the amazing women who represented and spoke on three different panels; Sports media, Radio and social media/ Public Relations. There were a lot of takeaways from this event. I mean, look at the list of speakers!! They are all so incredible and talented. It was a lot of fun to listen to all of them share their background and experiences. They all told us about some of the things they needed to do to get to where they are at now. And they shared advice on what ‘we‘ can do to get there too. Lots of great advice. Some key points were:

• Check social media trends
• Use social media as a tool
• Create content
• Be yourself
• Be special
• Stop looking for approval 
• Record yourself and make a compilation. Send demos!
• Build your network. 
• Make friends!!

• Learn everything about the camera, filming, editing.
• Know how to tell a story
• Always be prepared
• Take every opportunity you can 
• DO whatever is needed. 
• KNOW what you want to do
• Speak up

It felt kind of like the “theme” of the night was Know Your Worth. Don’t get discouraged. Don’t let others discourage you. Make sure your circle is on your level. Make sure the elevate you and keep you above the rest. Make sure they support you. Know you are special. Known there is no one else like YOU out there!! Know YOU are one of a kind and do NOT let anyone dim your light.

I already can’t wait for next years event. I can’t wait to hit the ground running and do what I need to do. Do what God has tasked me with. Do all the stuff that pushes me out of my comfort zone. Do all the things that I know I am good at. Do all the things I need to do to get me where God has intended. I am excited and relieved in knowing where I am going to end up.
